Yong Gao received the B.S. degree from Beijing Normal University in 1997 and the M.S. and PhD degrees from Peking University in 2000 and 2003, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor of GIScience with the Institute of Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems, Peking University. His research interests lie in spatial data mining, geographic information retrieval, and high-performance computing with geographical data.
